MTN Group to Invest $215 Million in Telecom Infrastructure in Benin

1.2k

Telecom giant MTN Group plans to invest $215 million in telecom infrastructure in the Republic of Benin over the next three years. The announcement came during a leadership visit to Cotonou, where MTN Group executives, including President and CEO Ralph Mupita, met with Benin’s President Patrice Talon.

The investment includes plans for a state-of-the-art office for MTN Benin. MTN, with operations in 19 markets and approximately 292 million subscribers, has already tested 5G services in Benin, showing promising results.

The move reflects MTN’s commitment to enhancing its presence in the West African region. This investment follows a similar commitment made in Nigeria last year, where MTN pledged $3.5 billion to boost the Nigerian economy.
