“Tinubu Is Playing Fiddle While Nigeria Drowns In Insecurity, He Should Step Aside” – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu for its alleged covert continuation of the fuel subsidy

The 2023 presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has called for President Bola Tinubu to step down over the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, particularly the recurrent kidnappings across the nation.

Accusing him of neglecting the pressing issues at hand, Atiku criticized Tinubu’s decision to embark on a private visit while Nigeria grapples with severe security challenges.

He highlighted a distressing incident in Abuja where kidnappers tragically took the lives of a nursing mother and grandmother because they were unable to pay a N90 million ransom. Additionally, he drew attention to the unfortunate fate of two monarchs in Ekiti, emphasizing the recurring tragedies affecting ordinary Nigerians. In a statement on Tuesday, he said:

“Tinubu is playing fiddle while Nigeria is drowning in the ocean of insecurity. To imagine that the Commander-in-Chief is on a so-called private visit while kidnappers kill a nursing mother and grandmother in Abuja for failing to pay N90m ransom and two monarchs in Ekiti, among other regular tragedies besetting Nigerians.”

According to Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu departed Abuja for France for a private visit last Wednesday, making it his third trip to the country since he took office.

Addressing this, Atiku said, “If the shoes are too big for Emilokan, he should step aside. Nigeria does not need another Tourist-in-Chief.” He also called for effective leadership to “confront the pervasive insecurity and collapsing economy”.
