The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The fixture was confirmed after Cameroon orchestrated a stunning comeback in a thrilling encounter against Gambia. The Indomitable Lions, trailing behind with time running out, managed to score twice to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory.

The win not only propelled Cameroon into the last 16 but also eliminated Ghana from the tournament,

Nigeria secured a spot in the round of 16 with a narrow 1-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles had to rely on an own goal to emerge victorious, showing the challenges they faced against the determined underdogs. The narrow win just like the one against the host earlier in Group A, however, solidified Nigeria’s progress to the next stage of the tournament and set the stage for a clash against  Cameroon.
