Kemi Adetiba introduces King of Boys 3

Nigeria’s Kemi Adetiba has kicked off the pre-production phase for the much-anticipated sequel to “King of Boys” (KOB).

Adetiba makes the revelation of the upcoming blockbuster thriller “KOB 3: The Beginning of the End” on Instagram. She added that the new production will introduce fresh characters alongside a few familiar faces, with casting calls already in progress.

“King of Boys,” a crime political thriller, revolves around Alhaja Eniola Salami, portrayed by veteran actress Sola Sobowale, as she strives for power through political ambition. The movie’s first instalment was released in 2018, establishing Eniola’s character and delving into her past and present. With a cinematic success earning ₦244 million, it currently ranks as the 13th highest-grossing Nigerian movie.

The second instalment, a seven-part series titled “King of Boys: The Return of the King,” debuted on Netflix on August 27, 2021. It chronicled Eniola’s ascent to legitimate political power after five years in exile.

The cast, including Toni Tones, Reminisce, Illbliss, Akin Lewis, Osas Ighodaro, Nse Ikpe-Etim, and others, contributed to the success of the series. Adetiba is set to reveal more details about the production’s progress and introduce the new cast in the coming updates.
