161

President Bola Tinubu convened a closed-door emergency meeting with the nation’s top security officials at the Presidential Villa in Abuja earlier today.

The meeting aimed to address the surge in kidnappings, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and strategize on ensuring the safety of citizens.

The meeting saw the presence of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other prominent military and police officers.

The urgency of the meeting was underscored by recent events, particularly a disturbing spate of abductions. Just last week, over 85 individuals have been reported to fall victim in different places, like along the Kaduna – Abuja highway, with some losing their lives to violence.

The situation took a darker turn with the kidnapping of six sisters and their father in Abuja, an incident that gripped the nation. Tragically, after a failed ransom collection amounting to N60 million, the eldest sister, Najeebah, was killed.”

Earlier reported was that First Lady Remi Tinubu and other prominent Nigerians moved by the incidents issued a statement urging security forces to intensify their efforts.
