Nigeria grapples with insecurity, from kidnappings to murder, terror attacks, looting and destruction of properties. The citizens walk on eggshells because anyone could as well be the next victim. While the first lady urged Nigerians to pray fervently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took a trip to Imo State for the second term inauguration of the state’s governor, Hope Uzodimma.
He arrived in the state on Monday around 1 pm and was received at the Sam Mbakwe Airport by the governor and other top government officials within the South-East. The President, along with other officials, are to commission projects in the state following the inauguration at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
Prior to the inauguration of Hope Uzodimma, the governor pledged to be a “servant leader” to the people and residents of the South-East. Addressing the people, he expressed his humility and gratitude for their support and collective commitment to him, as he pledged to uphold the entrusted mandate. “This inauguration is not mine alone; it belongs to all Imo sons and daughters,” he said.
“To our esteemed guest, we welcome you with open arms and rest assured that Imo State is ready to extend its renowned hospitality to you. As we embark on this new term, we are ready to deliver more work for ndi Imo, and our commitment is unwavering. Thank you, and may our great state continue to prosper under our collective efforts.” Uzodimma concluded.
