As the clock ticks down to the highly anticipated kick-off of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, national teams from across the continent have arrived in Abidjan in a dazzling display of cultural elegance and national pride. 

A vibrant and diverse fashion display by the arriving teams for a tournament showcases the celebration of Africa’s rich cultural fashion. 

The Guinean national team, also known as the National Elephants, made a striking entrance adorned in lepi, a traditional national dress that reflects the essence of their heritage.

The players, exuding confidence and style, are set to clash with Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions in a highly anticipated match on Monday, adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament.

Ghana’s Black Stars brought an explosion of colour to Abidjan as they arrived draped in kente, a fabric that holds deep cultural significance and has become an iconic symbol of the country.

The Super Eagles are set to kick off their AFCON campaign against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, aiming to secure a fourth title in the biennial tournament.

Despite recent qualification bonus disputes, the Gambia’s national team, ‘‘the Scorpions, showcased unity and elegance by arriving in an elegant white traditional attire.’’

 Having reached the quarter-finals in their AFCON debut two years ago, the Gambia aims to make a lasting impression on the continent’s football stage.

Senegal’s Lions of Teranga, under the watchful eye and well-wishes of President Macky Sall, made a stylish arrival, carrying the hopes and aspirations of the nation.

Namibia’s Brave Warriors proudly displayed their national colours of blue, green, and red, emphasizing their unity and commitment to representing their country with honour and courage.
