NTA, SuperSports To Broadcast AFCON 2024

SuperSports, a subsidiary of Multichoice, confirmed on Wednesday that it would broadcast all 52 matches of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON). This announcement comes on the heels of their previous declaration that they hadn’t secured the rights for the tournament.

This was revealed in a post on X captioned with the caption “No gree for anybody,” assuring customers of the opportunity to witness every thrilling moment of #afcon2023 on SuperSports, to the delight of football enthusiasts.

Multichoice, the parent company of Digital Satellite Television (DStv), made the disclosure, marking a significant shift from their previous statement indicating a lack of rights for broadcasting the tournament.

In the same vein, National Television Authority (NTA) secured a significant deal to broadcast the tournament, the Africa Cup of Nations.

In a partnership with Afro Sports, the NTA signed a memorandum of understanding to air all 52 matches of the 2024 AFCON edition in Cote d’Ivoire.

The Africa Cup of Nations, a premier men’s association football competition in Africa, is known for its thrilling moments and is sometimes referred to as the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations or simply AFCON/CAN.

Set to kick off on Saturday, 13 January 2024, and culminate on Sunday, 11 February 2024, in Côte d’Ivoire, the 2024 edition promises excitement and fierce competition among the participating nations.
