The Nigerian Broadcasting Industry Mourns the Loss of Aisha Bello Mustapha

The Nigerian broadcasting community is in mourning following the sudden and tragic passing of Aisha Bello Mustapha, a revered newscaster and Assistant Director of News at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

Aisha Bello Mustapha died on December 10, 2023, after a long and successful career as a News Producer, Current Affairs Producer, Newscaster, and Head of Environment Desk, NTA. Prior to starting her iconic career at NTA, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State.

At press time, the circumstances of her death remain unknown, but the news of her death has made an impact across the country, with many colleagues and viewers paying their tributes to the broadcaster, who had become a beloved figure and household name over the years.

As friends, colleagues, and admirers gather to pay their respects, a funeral prayer in her honor is slated to take place at the Central Mosque in Abuja on December 11th, 2023. Erstwhile viewers, colleagues, family and friends are expected to be present at the prayer, in keeping with the profound influence she had on the broadcasting community and the nation at large.
