Nigerian artiste Wizkid has shattered the record for the most first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria with his latest single, Piece of My Heart. Released on October 19, 2024, the track, featuring American singer Brent Faiyaz, garnered 1.1 million streams within 24 hours.

This achievement surpasses the previous record of Wizkid and Asake’s collaboration, MMS, from Asake’s album Lungu Boy. Piece of My Heart also becomes the first song from any African artist to hit over 1 million opening-day streams on Spotify.

Additionally, Wizkid now holds the top three spots for the highest first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria, with his earlier track, IDK featuring Zlatan, securing the third position.

The success of Piece of My Heart marks the beginning of Wizkid’s ‘Morayo’ era, leading up to the release of his highly anticipated sixth studio album, set for November 22, 2024.
