Wizkid, Seyi Vibez, and Asake Dominate Spotify’s 2025 Wrapped in Nigeria

7

Spotify has released its 2025 Wrapped data, and the results show another year of dominance for some of Nigeria’s biggest stars. Wizkid sits at the very top as the most-streamed artist in the country, primarily powered by the success of his album Morayo, which also finished as the most-streamed album of the year.

Seyi Vibez follows closely in second place after a year marked by consistent releases, a fast-growing fan base and a strong digital presence. Asake takes the third spot, continuing his streak of high-performing hits and one of the most recognisable sounds in contemporary Afrobeats.

Davido and Omah Lay also made a significant impact this year with their collaboration With You, which became the most-streamed song in Nigeria for 2025. The track played constantly across social media, clubs and radio stations, showing the power collaborations still hold in shaping listening culture.

In the women’s category, Ayra Starr once again finished as the most-streamed female artist in Nigeria. Tems came in next, followed by Smur Lee, gospel singer Sunmisola Agbebi and Tiwa Savage. Their placement highlights how female voices continue to shape Nigerian pop, despite the playlist dominance of their male counterparts.

The overall ranking shows a music landscape that is becoming broader and more experimental. Young acts and established stars are competing on the same level, and listeners are more open to switching across genres and moods. Artists like ODUMODUBLVCK, BNXN, Fola, Rema, Olamide and others all feature within the top positions, proving that Nigerian audiences are hungry for variety.

The success of Wizkid’s full-length project also signals that albums still matter in Nigeria, even in a market where singles usually move faster and louder. Meanwhile, the streaming numbers behind collaborations like With You show that partnerships remain one of the most effective ways to expand reach.

The 2025 Wrapped results also underline how deeply ingrained Spotify has become in Nigeria’s music culture. With rising internet access, improved mobile data, and increased global attention on Afrobeats, streaming has become the primary measure of influence in the industry.

Overall, the rankings paint a picture of an industry that is evolving at high speed, where traditional structures are giving way to digital momentum, and where Nigerian music continues to push further into global spaces while maintaining its identity.
