Tyla released her highly anticipated self-titled debut studio album on Friday (March 22) through FAX and Epic Records.

Featuring 14 tracks, the album includes her breakout hit “Water” and its Travis Scott remix, alongside collaborations with South African DJ/producer Kelvin Momo (“Intro”), Tems (“No. 1”), Gunna and Skillibeng (“Jump”), and Becky G (“On My Body”). Also included are previously released tracks like “Truth or Dare,” “On and On,” and “Butterflies,” which were part of Tyla’s EP released in late 2023, as well as her 2022 single “To Last.” Additionally, Tyla gave BLACKPINK’s Lisa the “first listen” of the 10th track, “A.R.T.”

“Water,” Tyla’s lead single, achieved remarkable success, reaching No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and winning the inaugural Grammy award for Best African Music Performance this year. Tyla was also featured on Billboard’s 2024 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists to Watch list.

Despite her album release and plans for a world tour starting on March 21, the 22-year-old South African popiano singer had to postpone her tour and cancel her Coachella performance due to a worsening injury.

In an Instagram post earlier this month addressed to her fanbase, the Tygers, Tyla expressed her disappointment: “I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour. In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety.”
