In an interview with the New York Times’ Culture Reporter Reggie Ugwu, Tems revealed that she was sent a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) by her team, which she signed after being invited to Los Angeles to collaborate with Beyoncé. “My team just messaged me like, ‘Yo, first of all, I have to send you something to sign.’ I was losing my mind. Like, What?!” she recounted.

This collaboration resulted in the single “Move,” featured on Beyoncé’s Grammy-nominated album ‘Renaissance’. Besides Beyoncé, Tems has also worked with other global superstars such as Drake, Rihanna, and Future, the latter featuring her and Drake on his Grammy-winning track “Wait For U.”

During the interview, Tems discussed her highly anticipated debut LP ‘Born In The Wild,’ slated for release in June 2024. She shared that the album’s lead single, “Love Me, Jeje,” released recently, originated from a freestyle session with her friends. “It was just a state of bliss. Those are the moments that I love,” she said about making music with her friends.

Tems’ growing list of high-profile collaborations and her upcoming album highlight her rising influence in the global music scene.
