Rick Ross Teases Upcoming Collaboration with Blaqbonez

1.1k

American rap icon Rick Ross recently offered fans a sneak peek into his latest project, a collaboration with Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez. The Grammy-nominated artist took to his Instagram story on June 10, 2024, to share a snippet of the eagerly anticipated single, showcasing Blaqbonez’s dynamic verse in the accompanying video.

This preview comes as no surprise, considering Ross’s recent announcement of his plans to curate an African-inspired album set to feature a diverse array of artists from across the continent.

Earlier this year, Ross ignited excitement among fans by expressing his admiration for Nigerian street hop sensation Portable and rapper Odumodublvck. In a candid moment, Ross publicly revealed his aspiration to immerse himself in the vibrant African music scene, setting the stage for his collaboration with Blaqbonez.

Among the esteemed artists listed to feature on the album are Nigerian sensation Ayra Starr, Ghana’s Stonebwoy, and Tanzania’s superstar Diamond Platinum, reflecting Ross’ commitment to fostering cross-cultural musical exchanges.

This will not be Ross’ first time collaborating with Nigerian talent. In 2011, Ross was in the remix of P-Sqaure’s hit single “Beautiful Onyinye”. In 2019, he was featured in Yemi Alade’s “Oh My Gosh”. As Ross embarks on this exciting venture, Ross continues to bridge continents through the universal language of music.
