Some youths of Isale Eko, Lagos, took to the streets yesterday in a resounding call for peace and progress within their community.
Led by the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the event saw an overwhelming turnout.
The walk showcased the community’s commitment to fostering a harmonious and prosperous future.
Participants marched through the streets with banners and chants, symbolizing their unwavering dedication to building a better tomorrow.
Reflecting on the event, Rhodes-Vivour expressed pride in the youth’s organization and enthusiasm, emphasizing their eagerness to contribute to the betterment of their community. “I’m proud of the youth of Isale Eko for how well organized the walk was,” remarked Rhodes-Vivour. “The turnout was massive and underscores the desire of our youth for peace and progress.”
However, amidst the celebration of unity, there lingers a palpable sense of urgency. Rhodes-Vivour articulated a sentiment shared by many, acknowledging both excitement and concern for the future.
“Seeing the huge turnout of youth yesterday filled me with both excitement and fear,” he stated. “Excitement that we can come together to express our aspirations for peace and progress. Fear that the government MUST provide and create opportunities for our teeming youth to avoid a volatile future, ” he concluded.
