The Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State where sixteen soldiers were killed has been razed.

This report comes a day after the Defence Headquarters confirmed that military personnel from the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Bomadi LGA of Delta State, who were on a peacekeeping mission to the Okuoma community, were ambushed and killed by the community’s local youths.

There are allegations suggesting that enraged soldiers might have razed down the community following the death of their comrades.

However, according to reports, a search for the perpetrators is actively underway, with some arrests already conducted by soldiers under the command of Major General Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding 6th Division of the Nigerian Army.

Reports has also indicated that residents of the community have fled to the neighboring town of Ughelli, fearing potential retaliation from the soldiers who have been conducting patrols in the creeks.
