According to reports, nine bodies have been retrieved from a quarry near a dumpsite opposite the Kware Police Station.

The police from Kware Police Station assisted the youths who made the discovery. The bodies were stuffed in sacks, some of which had been hacked into pieces.

Residents, anxious and saddened, have flocked to the area, with many expressing shock and outrage at the killings.

There is a clamour for an investigation by citizens and CSOs alike, and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Faith Odhiambo joined in the calls for investigations into the incidents.

In a statement via X, Odhiambo said it was unacceptable for people to be killed and dumped in a quarry.

“We need investigations to be done! Unacceptable,” she said.

While there are different allegations, many citizens alleged that the bodies are not unconnected to the protest that turned bloody days ago, while the state reacted by teargassing and allegedly shooting at protesters.
