Nigerian Bridgerton Cast – WAW Edition

276

The curtains have closed on Season 3 of our beloved Bridgerton series, and we’re eagerly awaiting Season 4. While we waited for the next season, we had a little fun imagining what it would be like if the cast were replaced with Nigerian actors. Here’s our take:

Enyinnaya Nwigwe as Anthony Bridgerton

Remember Enyinnaya from The Wedding Party 1 & 2? Picture him as Colin: hot, not quite ready to settle down, but open to exploring friendships and finding the one. Perfect fit.

Kunle Remi as Colin Bridgerton

KR didn’t allow singles to breathe during his real-life wedding to Tiwi. Too much suffocation on the internet. That was the vibe Anthony Bridgerton gave everyone in the series with his wife, Kate. Too much love. Kunle is that guy.

Richard Mofe Damijo as Lord Marcus

You know this casting is perfect. RMD has self-acclaimed sugar babies in Nigeria, including this author. He possesses that touch of old, sexy and hot and that right there is Lord Marcus.

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde as Violet Bridgerton

Omotola as Violet? Yes, please! She’s the kind of loving, supportive mother who always wants the best for her kids but never forces her choices on them. Plus, her past on-screen chemistry with RMD is legendary.

Sharon Ooja as Cressida Cowper

Sharon Ooja showed us in The Men’s Club that she can be the ultimate schemer. She’d nail the role of Cressida Cowper, the manipulative, blackmailing character we love to hate.

Beverly Naya as Francesca Bridgerton

Beverly Naya’s tender demeanour is just right for Francesca. The way she articulates her words fits the character, too. She fits the category of sweet, drama-free love, much like Francesca Bridgerton.

Iyabo Ojo as Lady Featherington

Talk about a typical dramatic mother. And with that, her black bonnet whenever there’s a score to settle. So cool. She will force her ideals down your throat whether you like it.

Osas Ighodaro as Kate Bridgerton

Osas has made us “aw” in countless love stories, and she’s got the perfect height to boot. She’d bring Kate Bridgerton to life with elegance and charm.

Timini Egbuson as Benedict Bridgerton

Our Nollywood “bad boy” will deliver Benedict’s role effortlessly. Is it to carry a woman? Leave it for Timini.

Nse Ikpe Etim as Lady Tilley Arnold

Nse’s performance in A Sunday Affair proved she could portray a middle-aged woman who lives by her own rules, chases the bag, and does whatever she wants and with whoever. She’s perfect for Lady Tilley.

Uzor Arukwe as Lord Debling

Because Uzor Arukwe reminds us of a typical rich Igbo man who will spoil his woman with money. The actual Odogwu! That’s Lord Debling. He has it all.

Geneoveva Umeh as Eloise Bridgerton

Strong-willed and opinionated, just like Eloise. Geneoveva’s role in Blood Sisters shows she’s got the tenacity and cleverness to pull it off.

Joke Silva as Lady Danbury

Aunty Joke’s poise and sophistication make her the ideal Lady Danbury. She’s got the matchmaker vibe down to a T.

Elvina Ibru as Queen Charlotte

From her role in Bling Lagosians to her free-spirited nature in Kamdili, Elvina Ibru would bring humour and regality to Queen Charlotte—the 1% of the 1%” from Bling Lagosians. Elvina Ibru will deliver promptly as queen.

Deyemi Okanlawon as Lord Kilmartin

Deyemi’s resemblance to the character aside, he’s played more love roles than we can count. His quiet, calm love in Love in a Pandemic makes him a great fit for Lord Kilmartin.

Penelope Featherington

Choosing Penelope was tough. She’s naive on the surface but a mastermind underneath. We see Bimbo Ademoye here for her fitting physique and Tomi Ojo for her calm collected demeanour showcased in Far From Home.

And there you have it! Our dream Nigerian cast for Bridgerton. Who do you think fits the bill the most?
