Napoli has appointed Antonio Conte as its new head coach, signing the former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager on a three-year contract.
Conte, who has been out of work since leaving Tottenham in March 2023, is set to take over the Serie A club. The club will not participate in European competitions next season following a disappointing 10th-place finish.

Conte, who led Chelsea to a Premier League title in 2017 and has a wealth of experience managing top European clubs, expressed his enthusiasm about joining Napoli.
“Napoli is a place of global importance. I’m happy and excited to sit on the Azzurri bench,” Conte stated. “I can certainly promise one thing: I will do my best for the growth of the team and the club. My commitment, together with that of my staff, will be total.”
Napoli’s decision to bring in Conte shows their ambition to return to the top of Italian football after a season of underperformance.
Just a year ago, Napoli celebrated their first Serie A title in 33 years, but their recent struggles prompted a significant change in leadership.
Conte’s track record includes successful stints at Juventus, where he won three consecutive Serie A titles, and Chelsea, where he secured the league title and an FA Cup win.
His tactical acumen and ability to motivate players will be crucial as Napoli aims to rebuild and reclaim their status as one of Italy’s premier football clubs.
“Antonio is a top coach, a leader, with whom I am sure that the necessary foundation will start after the conclusion of the cycle that led us to win the Scudetto last year after many seasons at the top of Italian football, I am very proud that the new coach of Napoli is Antonio Conte,” Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis noted.
