Lagos State Police Command thwarted a kidnapping attempt in the Ladipo area, resulting in the killing of nine kidnappers.

The incident was reported to have happened around 8 pm yesterday, leaving the kidnappers dead after a fierce gun duel with police officers.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said that the abductors were in the process of abducting a victim when the police interrupted them.

The kidnappers were neutralised during a gun duel with the police. The kidnappers were nine in number, and they wanted to abduct someone at Ladipo when the police foiled their operation, stated Hundeyin.

After the encounter, police took from the suspects all sorts of weapons and other items, including guns, bullets, and Army uniforms, which were paraded at the command headquarters in Ikeja.
