Kidnapped Police Officer Found Dead in Plateau State

The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a native doctor and the father of a 26-year-old man, Chikwado Celestine Eze, who died during a failed fortification ritual in Ugbaike, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area last week.

A mobile police officer who was abducted in the Kampani community of Bashar District, Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State, has been found dead.

The officer was part of a security team combating bandits in the area when he and a soldier were ambushed.

According to sources, the soldier managed to escape, but the assailants captured the policeman. His lifeless body was discovered on Sunday in a bush at Bangalala, a nearby area. Residents of Wase town confirmed this discovery.

As of when this report was filed, the Plateau State Police Command has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.

It was earlier reported that at least 40 people were killed by bandits in Zurak Kompani and Bandalala, Bashar District of Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State.
