A Gaza hospital reported that an Israeli airstrike on a house in Nuseirat refugee camp killed at least 20 people on Sunday, according to AFP.

We received 20 fatalities and several wounded after an Israeli air strike targeted a house belonging to the Hassan family in Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, stated Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

The attack happened around 3:00 am local time, according to witnesses. The Israeli army is currently investigating the report.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa mentioned that several children were among the injured, and rescuers are searching for people trapped in the rubble.

Intense fighting and heavy Israeli bombardments have been ongoing in the Nuseirat camp since early May, focusing on the southern city of Rafah. Clashes between Palestinian militants and Israeli troops have also been reported in the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza.

Witnesses noted that multiple houses were targeted by airstrikes overnight across Gaza, with additional strikes and shelling in Rafah.

The Israeli military announced that two more soldiers were killed in Gaza the previous day, bringing the total to 282 soldiers since the ground offensive began on October 27.
