In the wake of escalating tensions in the Middle East, Iran has issued a grave warning of retaliation against Israel following an airstrike near its consulate in Syria.

The strike claimed the lives of several high-ranking members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including their commander, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, sparking fears of further conflict in the region.

According to reports from an Arab newspaper, Al Mayadeen, the CIA has alerted Israel to an imminent threat from Iran.

The warning suggested that Iran is poised to launch a multifaceted attack within the next 48 hours, using a combination of drone swarms and cruise missiles to target strategic locations within Israel’s borders.

The Iranian military’s resolve to retaliate was underscored by IRGC spokesperson Ramadan Sharif, who vowed further deadly attacks against Israel.

This sentiment was echoed by Ayatollah’s advisor, Maj. Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi declared that punishing Israel is inevitable.

The recent airstrike, attributed to Israel, not only eliminated Zahedi but also resulted in the deaths of several other officers.

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Ebrahim Raisi have both issued stern warnings, asserting that Israel will be punished for its actions.

The targeted facility in Damascus, alleged to have been struck by Israel using advanced F-35 fighter jets, played a crucial role in Iran’s military operations in Syria and Lebanon.

Zahedi’s central role in Iran’s military presence in the region has elevated him to martyr status, reminiscent of the targeted strike that killed Qasem Soleimani in 2020.
