“We Are The World” carries a poignant legacy. It originated in 1985 when musical titans Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie wrote it as an anthem for humanitarian aid. Produced by the legendary Quincy Jones, the song aimed to spotlight the famine ravaging Ethiopia.

This spirit of solidarity resurfaced in 2010, orchestrated by Wyclef Jean, who gathered 25 celebrities to cover the song, this time to raise awareness of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

“We Are The World” has served as a rallying cry for global compassion, particularly concerning the welfare of children. Nigerian celebrities added their voices to this enduring legacy through their heartfelt rendition, underscoring the importance of unity and empathy in addressing pressing social issues.
