The Golden Globe Awards 2025 nominees have been announced, with the musical Emilia Pérezleading the pack with 10 nominations. The awards, set for January 5, will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
Emilia Pérez, directed by Jacques Audiard and acquired by Netflix after its Cannes debut, is competing for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, with nominations also for Audiard (Best Director) Screenplay, Original Song, Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez for Best Supporting Actress amongst other nominations.
Selena Gomez stands out this year with dual nominations: one for her role in Emilia Pérez and another for Hulu’s hit series Only Murders in the Building.
In television, FX/Hulu’s The Bear leads the category with five nominations, including Best Musical or Comedy Series and acting nods for stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Cólon-Zayas.
Ariana Grande has earned her first Golden Globe nomination. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture as Glinda in Wicked, which premiered on November 22, 2024.
Hollywood icons Viola Davis and Ted Danson will also be honoured during the ceremony, receiving the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille and Carol Burnett Awards.
With such a strong lineup of contenders, the 82nd Golden Globes promise an exciting start to 2025
