Chima Udoye Wins Nigerian Idol Season 9, Takes Home ₦30 Million Grand Prize

Chima Udoye has emerged as the winner of the ninth season of Nigerian Idol, claiming the top prize after an intense finale held on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Udoye, celebrated for his charismatic stage presence and impressive vocal abilities, stood out among the competitors and left the judges consistently impressed throughout the competition.

The finale episode began with performances

by the top 10 contestants, who delivered a stirring rendition of John Legend’s “Glory.” Following this, past show winners made special appearances: Progress, the winner of Season 7, performed alongside the new Bigi Idol winner, and Victory Gbakara, the Season 8 winner, performed an original piece he wrote before his finale.

As the night progressed, guest performances by renowned artists Chike and Simi added to the excitement. The top three finalists also took to the stage, showcasing their talents before the winner was announced. Ultimately, Chima Udoye was crowned the champion.

In addition to the title, Udoye received a grand prize package that includes ₦30 million in cash, a brand new SUV, a DStv Explora with a one-year premium subscription, and a music deal that consists of a music video production.
