Defending champions Al Ahly SC of Egypt continued their relentless march toward a record-extending 13th CAF Champions League title. The Cairo giants displayed their experience and composure with a 2-0 aggregate victory over Sudan’s Al Hilal, reinforcing their status as the team to beat.
Their semi-final opponents, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, were equally resolute, edging out Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive de Tunis 1-0 over two tightly contested legs.
