Burkinabè citizens protest against foreign interference

Burkinabè citizens gathered at the iconic Place de la Révolution in Ouagadougou to protest against foreign interference in their country.

The mass mobilisation, organised by the Coordination Nationale de la Veille Citoyenne (CNAVC),under the rallying cry, “To reach Traoré, you’ll have to walk over us,” citizens from all walks of life marched in defence of what they described as the country’s hard-earned independence and dignity.

The demonstration responded directly to recent frivolous remarks made by General Longley, whose statements were condemned by CNAVC as “false analyses” and “unacceptable interference.”

We will show the world that Burkina Faso is no longer a vassal state, but a sovereign nation that decides for its people,” declared Ghislain Dabiré, spokesperson for the National Coordination of Citizen Watch (CNAVC), in an interview with AIB

Dabiré warned that any attempt to destabilise the country would be met with resistance from a vigilant and united population.

To reach the president, you must first walk over the people of Burkina Faso,” he stated

Dabiré hailed this as a sign of the rising tide of Pan-Africanism. “The era of plunder and manipulation is over. Black people now hold their destiny in their own hands,” he declared.

In recent happenings, the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has received massive international support for his firm stance against imperialism and his vision for a free and independent Africa. The solidarity with the Burkinabè leader has continued to spread across social media platforms.
