Big Brother Naija 2020 winner Olamilekan Moshood Agbeleshe, better known as Laycon, has called out famous record producer DJ Neptune for failing to pay royalties for their 2020 collaboration on the song “Nobody (Icons Remix).”

Laycon took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, 21st August 2024, to express his frustration, stating that he has not received the “agreement and split” payments promised to him. The reality TV star voiced his concerns over what he described as DJ Neptune’s four years of silence, emphasising the importance of honouring agreements within the music industry.

The remix in question, “Nobody (Icons Remix),” featuring Nigerian singer Joeboy, was released in October 2020, with the accompanying music video debuting the following month. The remix was dedicated to Laycon’s fan base, Icons, following his victory on the reality show.

Before the remix, the original version of “Nobody” was a collaboration between DJ Neptune, Mr. Eazi, Joeboy, and South African artist Focalistic. It was released in August 2020 and quickly gained popularity across the continent.

Currently, DJ Neptune has not responded to Laycon’s allegations regarding the unpaid royalties, leaving fans and industry watchers awaiting his side of the story.
