Mali: Press Union Chief Danté Condemns French Media “Manipulations”

458

The President of Mali’s Maison de la Presse, Bandiougou Danté, has strongly criticised what he described as falsehoods and manipulations spread by certain French media outlets against Mali.

In a statement released a week after his speech in Dakar, Danté accused segments of the French press of pushing hostile narratives to discredit the country.

The French media have just proven, even to the last fool in the village, the depth of their lies and their determination to bring down our country, a nation that asks only for respect, dignity, peace, and security, Danté said.

Speaking in a tone marked by conviction and patriotism, he reaffirmed the resilience of the Malian people and their determination to overcome external pressures.

Mali will stand tall. God willing, he concluded.

Danté’s statement comes amid ongoing tensions between Mali and several Western media organisations. This follows repeated government accusations of biased reporting on the country’s political and security developments.
