Kendrick Lamar emerged as the top winner at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, securing eight awards by the night’s end.
Although Megan Thee Stallion led the nominations with 12, she walked away without a single win, while Lamar, who had 11 nominations, swept every category in which he was nominated.
Other notable winners included Nicki Minaj, whose album Pink Friday 2 won Hip-Hop Album of the Year, and Sexyy Red, who claimed the title of Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist. 50 Cent also made his mark, winning Hustler of the Year.
From the international scene, Nigeria’s Burna Boy, nominated for Best Live Performer, lost to Missy Elliott. At the same time, Odumodublvck, another Nigerian artist, missed out on Best International Flow, which was awarded to Ghetts.
