Nigerian singer Oxlade has achieved a significant career milestone, as his 2022 hit single ‘Kulosa’ has earned a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This marks his first RIAA plaque, following the song’s sales surpassing 500,000 units in the U.S.

‘Kulosa,’ which catapulted Oxlade to global fame, has enjoyed massive international success, amassing over 400 million streams on Spotify and over 187 million views on YouTube. The track gained widespread popularity in the U.S., peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard Afrobeats Chart and maintaining a presence there for several months.

The song’s success extends beyond the U.S., with certifications in France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and several other countries. ‘Kulosa’ is part of Oxlade’s debut album, Oxlade From Africa, which features notable collaborations with artists like Wande Coal, Flavour, and international stars Bobi Wine and Fally Ipupa.

This achievement places Oxlade among Nigerian artists who have received RIAA certifications, alongside CKay, whose hit ‘Love Nwantiti’ has been certified 7x Platinum.
