Voting activities were halted at Orhionmwon Ward 8, Unit 1, as voters refused to continue the process due to the unavailability of a result sheet from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a video seen on X,  voters expressed their dissatisfaction with the electoral body’s inability to provide the crucial document needed to ensure transparency in the ongoing Edo governorship election.

There were assurances from the Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Anugbum Onuoha, that the election would be conducted impartially. He had affirmed his commitment to conducting a free and fair election.

I am competent to handle this election, Onuoha stated. I challenge all the political parties in Edo State to tell me what I have done wrong so far. I will not favour any political party. At the end of the day, the people of Edo will have an election that is free from pity.
