Ceasefire negotiations for the Gaza conflict will resume in Doha on Wednesday.

Key intelligence chiefs from Egypt, the United States, and Israel will be present, as revealed by Egypt’s state-affiliated Al-Qahera News TV and other sources on Tuesday.

Egyptian intelligence chief, Abbas Kamel, will lead the Egyptian security delegation, while Israel’s spy chief, David Barnpea, will also attend, a source close to the talks told Reuters.

Reuters source also said U.S.’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director, William Burns, will participate in the negotiations after the director met with Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in Cairo on Tuesday.

In a statement released by the presidency, Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s stance against the continuation of the military operations in Gaza. In the meeting with the CIA director, he stressed the need for “serious and effective steps” to prevent the Gaza conflict from expanding, the presidential statement added.

Egypt and Qatar are spearheading mediation efforts to end the nine-month conflict between Israel and Hamas. They aim to secure the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
