Casting for the highly anticipated film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, “Children of Blood and Bone,” is set to begin in July 2024. Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, known for “The Woman King,” the film promises to bring Adeyemi’s rich fantasy world to life.

Paramount Pictures is co-producing the project alongside Temple Hill Entertainment’s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, Sunswept Entertainment’s Karen Rosenfelt, and Matt Jackson of Jackson Pictures. Adeyemi and Reggie Rock Bythewood are on board as executive producers, ensuring the adaptation stays faithful to the source material.

“Children of Blood and Bone,” released in March 2018, quickly became a sensation, debuting at number one on The New York Times Young Adult Hardcover Bestseller List. The novel follows protagonist Zélie Adebola as she battles to restore magic to her oppressed people, confronting a brutal monarchy. It is the first book in a trilogy, followed by “Children of Virtue and Vengeance” and the recently published “Children of Anguish and Anarchy,” released on June 25, 2024.

Fans eagerly await the film adaptation, hopeful that the cinematic portrayal will capture the magic, adventure, and emotional depth of Adeyemi’s beloved series.
