She persevered through setbacks, including rejection from film school and two unsuccessful attempts at the TikTok short film competition.
Reflecting on her journey to success, Moss shared her gratitude on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, via an Instagram post, stating,
Two years ago, I was rejected from film school. Now, my short film has won Best Script at the Cannes Film Festival and is screening in theatres in five cities in France. This was my third time entering the #TikTokShortFilm competition, and I’m glad I didn’t give up on myself.

The Cannes Film Festival, renowned for celebrating global cinema, is a prestigious platform for filmmakers worldwide. This year, TikTok, the festival’s official partner, unveiled the winners of its third edition of the TikTok Short Film Competition on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
The competition witnessed a staggering submission of over 70,000 videos spanning 55 countries, with the hashtag #TikTokShortFilm garnering over 2.3 million posts on the TikTok app.
