After two years of anticipation, Lady Gaga’s highly awaited Chromatica Ball is finally set to dazzle screens later this month. The pop icon took to Instagram on Wednesday to unveil the release date, accompanied by a heartfelt message delving into the significance of the concert and its inspiration.

In her post, Gaga expressed her deep connection with her fans, affectionately known as monsters, emphasizing how every aspect of the Chromatica Ball reflects her artistic vision and the bond she shares with her audience. She wrote, “See yourself in every vocal, every fabric choice, the choreography, every image. Here’s the truth — no matter where life or my career has taken me, my time with you always is a path back to a very powerful part of myself. In a stadium filled with YOU it came to life. Thank you for that feeling. I hope you will feel seen when you watch this film. And know that I edited it carefully to honor you.”

The concert film promises to capture the electrifying energy of Gaga’s global Chromatica Ball stadium tour, featuring tracks from her acclaimed 2020 album, Chromatica. Scheduled to premiere on HBO on May 28, the film will later be available for streaming on Max.

Initially slated for summer 2020, the Chromatica Ball tour was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Gaga announced the film in September 2022, revealing that cameras had documented her Sept. 10, 2022, performance at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium. She also takes on the roles of director and producer for the project.
