Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared on Wednesday that Israel will independently decide its response to Iran’s massive air attack earlier in the week.

Despite international appeals for restraint, Netanyahu made it clear that Israel reserves the right to defend itself as it sees fit.

The conflict between Israel and Iran escalated following Iran’s air strike, which involved hundreds of missiles and drones. The assault drew severe global condemnation and prompted recent solidarity visits from British and German foreign ministers to Israel.

British foreign secretary, David Cameron, and German foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock, urged Israel to be restraint in order to avoid further escalation.

However, Netanyahu stated that Israel will make its decisions itself.

“The state of Israel will do whatever is necessary to defend itself,” the prime minister said.

Amid these developments, the United States President, Joe Biden, has imposed new sanctions on Iran. However, he has informed Netanyahu that the U.S. will not participate in any offensive actions against Iran.
