The undesignated terrorist group colloquially known as "gunmen" or "bandits" has killed the village head of Riruwai in Lame District of Bauchi Emirate in Toro LGA of Bauchi State, Alh Garba Badamasi, after he was kidnapped from his Palace three days ago.

Alhaji Garba Badamasi, the village head of Riruwai in Bauchi State, has been discovered dead after being abducted by gunmen. The assailants had, on March 15, 2024, stormed and seized the traditional ruler from his palace.

Reports indicate that the abduction instilled fear among residents as the gunmen resorted to indiscriminate gunfire before forcibly taking Badamasi captive. After enduring a day in captivity, the traditional ruler was murdered and dumped.

Following an extensive search, his lifeless body was recovered from the bush surrounding the village and subsequently transported to his palace in Gumau for funeral rites and burial by Islamic customs.

The motive behind the abduction remains unclear, as no ransom demands were made to the family. The Bauchi State Police is yet to issue official statements about the unfortunate Sunday event.
