Nigerian Chef RossyG Set to Reclaim Guinness World Record for Longest Cooking Marathon

Nigerian chef Rosemary Grace Igbadume, also known as RossyG, who hails from Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, is set to reclaim the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, to Nigeria. The Ambrose Ali University graduate plans to embark on this feat for 21 days, starting from March 10th to March 31st, 2024.

Having obtained approval from Guinness World Record in November 2023, RossyG is determined to break the current record in Abuja. She has secured a venue, purchased food supplies, assembled a team, including cameramen and media personnel, and is ready to commence the marathon.

According to the chef, her goal extends beyond personal achievement; she intends to provide free meals to the public, especially the less-privileged, during the event. While She has garnered some sponsorship, she appealed for further support from corporate organisations and individuals.

Undeterred by the challenge ahead, RossyG is confident in her preparation and relies on divine assistance for success. Her marathon will entail continuous cooking for 21 days, with only five minutes of rest per hour.

Encouraging prayers and support from Nigerians and beyond, RossyG aims to restore pride to Nigeria after the record was surpassed by Irish chef Alan Fisher, following Nigerian-born Hilda Baci’s previous achievement.
