President Bola Tinubu has appointed Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG) Kemi Nanna Nandap as the new Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), effective March 1, 2024.

The decision came as the term of Mrs Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, the outgoing Comptroller-General, ends on February 29, 2024.

Before her elevation, DCG Nandap was the Deputy Comptroller-General overseeing the Migration Directorate of the Service.

President Tinubu expressed confidence in Nandap’s ability to lead the NIS, emphasising her track record of dedication and competence in immigration and border management.

In a statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu underscored the importance of ongoing reforms within the NIS, highlighting the need for a robust mechanism to ensure efficient and dedicated service delivery to Nigerians.

The President further emphasised the critical role of the NIS in maintaining national security through proactive and effective border security measures and migration management.
