Namibia’s president Hage Geingob. has passed away at the age of 82.

In a somber address to the nation, Acting President of the Republic of Namibia, H.E. Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, conveyed the heartbreaking news of the passing of the Head of State, Dr. Hage G. Geingob. The announcement was made on Sunday, 4th February 2024.

Dr. Geingob, who served as the President of Namibia, breathed his last at Lady Pohamba Hospital around 00h04, where he had been under the care of his medical team. Despite the dedicated efforts of the medical professionals to ensure his recovery, the President succumbed to his illness, surrounded by his wife, Madame Monica Geingos, and his children.

Addressing the nation, Acting President Mbumba shared the recent updates on the President’s health, stating that the medical team had tirelessly worked to save his life. However, despite their spirited efforts, the nation mourns the loss of President Geingob.
