Peter Obi Speaks on Tinubu's First Year

Peter Obi, in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), has expressed concern over the recurring acts of violence in Nigeria.

“For the umpteenth time, Nigerians again woke up today to the continued reports of highly condemnable acts of violence reoccurring across our nation.”

He decried the reported killing of approximately 30 people in Plateau State and the brutal murder of a couple in Anambra State, whose bodies were callously left in the boot of their vehicle by the roadside, adding to the growing list of unreported violent crimes.

Obi strongly condemned these acts, questioning when the nation would witness an end to the escalating insecurity affecting its peace and progress.

Stressing the immediate need for intensified efforts, he appealed for leaders and security agencies to strive harder to unravel and bring the perpetrators of these crimes to book while they continue to make efforts to rid society of crime and violence.

He condoled with families who have lost their loved ones to the incessant insecurity in the country, saying:

“I condole with the affected families who have lost their loved ones to the raging insecurity in the country while praying to God to grant eternal rest to the dead. These are very difficult times in our country, but we must conquer this monster of insecurity to be able to enjoy the “New Nigeria” of our dreams.”
