Peter Obi congratulates Professor Rufus Olusola on NAS Gold Medal Award

Professor Rufus Olusola Akinyemi, a distinguished figure in the field of Geriatric Neurology and Translational Neuroscience at the University of Ibadan, has been honoured with the prestigious 2023 Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) Gold Medal Prize for Life Sciences.

His groundbreaking decade-long research into stroke, post-stroke vascular cognitive impairment, and dementia (PSVCID), alongside pioneering work in stroke bio-banking, has earned him widespread acclaim and recognition within the scientific community.

The announcement of this esteemed award was met with widespread celebration and commendation from various quarters across Nigeria.
