The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) raided supermarkets and open markets in some areas including Wuse and Garki markets, seizing several unregistered and counterfeit cosmetics it claimed worth N37 million.

The agency made this known in a post on its official X handle on Tuesday, stating that it acted based on intelligence reports.

It said that the operation was part of efforts to rid the market of counterfeit and illegally imported cosmetics products in the nation’s capital.
